Professional biography

After graduating from The University of Queensland, Dr Jillian Rosenstengel completed her core gastroenterology training at the Townsville Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. She subsequently completed advanced post-fellowship training in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) at the Indiana University Medical Centre in Indianapolis, USA.

Dr Rosenstengel has established a highly diverse specialist practice that encompasses a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions. Her advanced sub-specialisation in endoscopic ultrasound provides critical diagnostic support for identifying, staging, and treating complex malignancies of the pancreas, mediastinum, and wider gastrointestinal tract.

Clinical interests and procedures

  • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS): High-definition staging and assessment of the hepatobiliary tree, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract, and mediastinum.

  • Advanced neurolysis: EUS-guided coeliac plexus neurolysis for the targeted management of malignant pancreatic and hepatobiliary conditions

  • General practice scope: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), clinical hepatology, and diagnostic and treatment endoscopy.
