Clinical information: Your comprehensive medical history, pre-admission questionnaires, current medications, adverse reactions, previous clinical records, and details of your referring General Practitioner (GP) or specialist.
Use and disclosure of information
Your personal and health information is utilised solely for your direct clinical care and associated administrative requirements.
Clinical workflows: Sharing relevant health data with your treating gastroenterologist (including their administrative support provider, Gastro Services & Facilities), anaesthetist, nursing team, and your referring GP to coordinate seamless follow-up care.
Legal and regulatory duties: Meeting mandatory reporting requirements, such as from Queensland Health.
Data security and retention
All patient information is held securely within encrypted electronic medical record systems or locked physical archiving systems with strictly controlled staff access. In accordance with Australian healthcare regulations, adult medical records are retained for a minimum of seven years from the date of the last clinical contact, or until a minor patient reaches the age of 25.
Accessing and correcting your records
You have a legal right to request access to the personal and health information we hold about you. If you believe any details are inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, please contact our privacy officer via our central administrative rooms to arrange an immediate update.
Collection of information on this website
When you access this website, we may (through our website partner Squarespace) record your server address, domain name, the date and time of your visit, the pages viewed, the information downloaded and the frequency of visits. We may also record information about the types of browsers that are being used to visit this site.
